Blackjack Humane Society and Catahoula Connection is a group of people interested in saving catahoulas, catahoula mixes and other needy pets from the animal shelters in upper East Tn. Our goal is to pull these pets from the shelters, provide vet care for them, and place them in a foster home to keep them while we find them forever homes. All our pets will be spayed and neutered, fully vetted and treated for any medical conditions prior to be placed in their forever homes. An adoption application is available and an adoption contract is required for each pet.
Foster homes are our greatest need. One family can make a big difference in the lives of many pets. One person has fostered a dozen catahoulas so far this year and all have found homes!
We also make the connection with catahoula breeders and rescues to ensure that all needy catahoulas within our sphere of influence can find a good, quality home. We are willing to work to find fosters, homes and transports for these pets to get to their homes.
We advocate humane care for all animals and will work to prevent the needless suffering of them in local animal shelters. We believe that these pets are unique and have a wonderful life to offer us, if we will only give them that chance. We will work as long as we have breath to educate people on their plight and suffering and to raise funds to help make their lives better and to provide the things they need.
